The law of avoiding shame

All of us do many things we feel guilty for. And guilt at least allows us to think about our actions and make amends if we feel we need to. On the other hand ‘Shame’ is a bad place to be. Shame suggests we feel that we are flawed as human beings and much more than just our actions are wrong, our whole being is wrong. And that’s not good.

It is important to realise that you, as someone who tries to do good and sometimes comes up short that you are not to be ashamed. Your character is not flawed. Yes, sometimes the things you do are not perfect and you need to apologise, but they don’t make you a bad person.

Stop the negative self talk and believe in your intrinsic good and leave the judgement of your character out of the equation.

Our actions don’t determine our value, only our belief does that.

Next time that inner voice tells you you’re action means you are a bad person, talk back. Take back your self worth and reduce the event to just that, an event. Sort it out and if you did harm, apologise. But then move on as a great human being, with dignity and value. And know that the Universe forgives you and loves you.

And on to next week where we reconsider ‘The Law of The Highs and Lows of Life’
